Wisdom

The Wisdom Literature in the Bible consists of three books: JobEcclesiastes, and Proverbs1.  Lady wisdom everyday offers counsel and advice applicable to all image creatures1She speaks to individuals rather than to the nation and considers problems that have nothing to do with race or nationality1.

In terms of allowing wisdom to guide our decisions in life, here are some suggestions:

  1. Gain life experience: Wisdom is developed through experience. Reading the three scrolls everyday assist us when we travel, and immerse ourself in different opportunities2.
  2. Read widely: Engage in active learning by reading a wide variety of books in various genres and topics. Delve into history, biographies, non-fiction, and nature. Learn about ancient cultures and modern sciences2.
  3. Practice open-mindedness: Approach decisions with an open mind, perspective-taking, and intellectual humility. Consider different viewpoints and weigh the pros and cons before arriving at a sound conclusion3.
  4. Seek guidance from God: Pray for wisdom and trust in the Lord with all your heart. Ask for His direction and take comfort in the peace that only He can provide4.
  5. Exercise freedom of choice: Utilize spiritual practices such as studying scripture, personal prayer and meditation, listening to the counsel of your faith community, and using your own reasoning abilities and experiences5.

Remember, wisdom is the ability to judge correctly and follow the best course of action based on knowledge and understanding6. By incorporating these practices into your life, you can allow wisdom to guide your decisions and navigate life’s challenges with greater insight and discernment.
